Setting up KwikShield in Pegasus Mail

Lets Begin

1. To begin setting up a filter in Pegasus the first thing we have to do is to start Pegasus.
   
   



2. Once Pegasus is up and running we have to click on the icon (depicted in the picture below) to open the filter window.
   
   


3. A new window will open and here is where we are going to define our filters. To begin we have to click on the "Add Rule" button.
   
   


4. This will open another window. Here we must select "Regular expression match" from the drop down menu.
   
   


5. Now we are going to have to type in *SpamAssassin* into the "This rule triggers when the following expression:" box. It is important to type this in exactly as it appears here and to include the * (asterisk) for this to work properly. Now we have to decide what we want to do when an email matches this criteria. So from the "Action to take" drop down menu, we have to decide whether we just want to move the email to another folder, or to delete it.
   
   


6. In this example we chose to delete the email. If you decided to move it to another folder you will have to click the "Set" button and choose which folder to move it to. Once this is done all that is left is to click the OK button.
   
   


7. This will return us back to the original rule window. Here we have to again click the "Add Rule" button.
   
   


8. This will open another window. Here we must select "Regular expression match" from the drop down menu.
   
   


9. Now we are going to have to type in *Found to be infected* into the "This rule triggers when the following expression:" box. It is important to type this in exactly as it appears here and to include the * (asterisk) for this to work properly. Now we have to decide what we want to do when an email matches this criteria. So from the "Action to take" drop down menu, we have to decide whether we just want to move the email to another folder, or to delete it.
   
   


10. In this example we chose to delete the email. We recommend that you set yours to delete the email as well because this rule screens out a virus infected email and you probably do not want to keep it for review. Once this is done all that is left is to click the OK button.
    
    


11. This will once again return you to the original rule window here all that needs to be done is to click the "Save" button. Now we have succesfully setup filtering rules for your pegasus email.
