Setting
up KwikShield in Eudora
Virus and Junkmail Guard
<< back
to KwikShield Main Page
Lets Begin
- Before we can start to setup a filter in Eudora the first thing that
we have to do is to start Eudora.
- Now that Eudora is up and running we can begin the creation process
of setting up a filter. To begin we first click on the "Tools"
menu, and then click on "Filters".
- This will open a new window inside of Eudora. Now we can begin to
enter the settings for our mail filter, but first we have to click on
the "New" button.
- Here we want to make sure that "Incoming" has a checkmark in
it. Then our next step is to select "Any Header" in the "header"
drop down menu.
- Now in the box after "contains" we have to type in "SpamAssassin".
It is important to type this in exactly as it appears in the picture
below for this to work properly. Once this is done we now have to change
the drop down menu that is set to "ignore" and change it to "or".
- Our next step is to select "Any Header" in the second "header"
drop down menu.
- Now in the box after "contains" we have to type in "Found to be
infected". It is important to type this in exactly as it appears
in the picture below for this to work properly.
- Next we have to decide what we want to do with the emails that the
filter picks up to be spam or email that contains a virus. In this example
we have chosen to send these emails straight to the "trash". To do this
we must first click on the "Action" menu. Here we will notice a menu
appear. On the menu we have to click on "Transfer To".
- We will now notice that a button appears next to the menu we just
changed. This button will say "In" by default. We want to change this
so that it sends the emails to the trash instead of the Inbox. To do
this we have to click on the button.
- Here a little menu will appear showing all of the different folders
that we can choose from. You can select any folder you want here but
remember that is where the filtered email will be placed. For this example
we are going to select "Trash" from the menu.
- Now our next step is to close the filter window. To do this we simply
click the X located in the upper right corner of the "Filter
window".
- Here a little window will appear asking us if we want to save our
filter. All that is left for us to do is to click the "Yes" button.
Now our filter is complete.
