KwikLink Outage Notification
----------------------------
KwikLink would like to apologize for any inconvenience caused by an Internet
outage that occurred today (October 14). This outage was caused by an upgrade
to the UUNet Canada system in Toronto that was scheduled for early this morning.
The upgrade was intended to improve reliability, but unfortunately caused
unforeseen problems with the system. We have not yet received a full report
of the exact circumstances, but we would like to thank the people that phoned
in to inform us of the problem.
In addition, MTT was performing some modifications on our main phone lines
in our office that caused some of our users to receive messages such as
"the phone number you have dialed has been disconnected" when calling our
sales/support staff. These problems were quickly resolved after they were
reported to us.
Once again, KwikLink would like to apologize for any inconveniences caused by
this outage as it is our commitment to provide the best possible Internet
service to our customers.

Getting The Most From 56K
-------------------------
Although we have many customers that are accessing their KwikLink account
using our 56K dial-up number -- 1 out of every 3 customers are not achieving
true 56K speeds with their connections. If you find you are connecting at
28,800 or 33,600 when dialing into the 56K access numbers -- you may either be
using a 33.6K modem (in which case you should dial into our 33.6K access number
for improved performance) or your modem cannot properly initiate a good 56K V.90
connection to our system.
KwikLink technicians have considerable experience with 56K modems and can suggest
free upgrades that can help your modem achieve higher speeds. We have found that
simple upgrades can take modems like AOpen and WinModems to considerably higher
speeds.

KwikLink is always looking for comments or suggestions on how we can
improve our services for all of our users. If you have any
suggestions, please don't hesitate to contact us at sales@klis.com
