KwikLink Announces System Upgrades
----------------------------------
KwikLink is pleased to announce system upgrades designed to
keep your KwikLink connection fast and accessible. These upgrades include
more 56K lines to make sure that anyone dialing into our 56K numbers will
be able to get a 56K connection the first time (these were installed on
September 12). In addition to these lines, we have increased the size of
our connection to the Internet to make sure your connection with us is
always the fast, reliable connection that you expect from us.

Pay KwikLink Using Internet And Telephone Banking
-------------------------------------------------
Over the past several months, a number of individuals have inquired
about paying their KwikLink bills using the Internet and/or telephone banking
services that are available from most of the major banks. We are pleased to
announce that you can now pay your KwikLink using these services simply by
setting up KwikLink as one of the companies you wish to pay.
When using Internet and telephone banking, you will be asked for your
KwikLink account number. This number appears on the automatic e-mails you
receive each month from our accounting system:
Invoice # 123546
Invoice Date: 2000-08-01
Account # 26 <-- Your Account Number
Name: Captain Kwik
All payments received from these payments are processed in our office
on the next business day. If you have any questions about using Internet banking
to pay your KwikLink payments, please contact us at sales@klis.com.
KwikLink Announces New Web/Domain Plans
---------------------------------------
KwikLink is pleased to announce an upgrade to our existing business
web plans. Our starter web account, which consisted of 2 MB of business web
space has been upgraded to 5 MB of space. This upgrade will take effect
immediately on all websites that are currently on the starter web plan.
KwikLink would also like to announce that it is now easier than every to
have your own www.yourname.com address on the Internet. Registrations of .COM,
.ORG, and .NET names now cost only $49.95/year and include all fees associated
with the domain names and hosting of the name in our servers meaning that you
can have e-mail addresses at your domain (joe@yourname.com) directed to
existing mailboxes for free!

Important Announcement For All .CA Domain Holders
-------------------------------------------------
For the entire history of all names that end with a .CA, the system
has been administered by volunteer organizations with very strict rules to get
domains within the .CA structure. Beginning on November 1, 2000, control of
the .CA domains will be passed over to the Canadian Internet Registration
Authority (CIRA) that will then continue to administer the names into the
future.
As a result of this change, the CA registry is removing some of the
restrictions on obtaining .CA domains so that any Canadian citizen or
corporation may obtain any address that ends in .CA (in other words, you no
longer have to be stuck with a .ns.ca if you want a .CA). Any individual or
company that already has a .CA domain must pre-register that domain under the
new system for it to be active after November 1, 2000. KwikLink is please to
be able to offer the registration services for .CA domains at a cost
of $69.95/year.
This represents an excellent opportunity to get a .CA name before
anyone else, but act now since after November 1, 2000 they will be
disappearing quickly. For more information, please contact our sales

Focus: Bringing Your Personal Website On-Line
---------------------------------------------
All KwikLink Internet accounts come with personal webspace to allow
the creation of your own personal website on the Internet. In previous
newsletters, we explored accessing your webspace using a File Transfer
Protocol (FTP) client program. This newsletter article is still available at:

If you are running Internet Explorer version 4.0 or later, however, the
process of transfer files to and from your personal webspace can be made a lot
easier.
Once you have created the website that you want to send up to the
server, open an Internet Explorer window and enter the following address:
ftp://home.klis.com
After you have entered this address and pressed the Enter key, it will
then ask you for your KwikLink username and password. Enter this information and
a listing of the files in your personal webspace will be displayed. You should
see a "public_html" folder which is the folder that will contain your public
website - double click on this folder to open it. From here, you can view
your web files, delete any files you wish by highlighting them and pressing
the delete key, or drag new files to your website from other folders on your
system.
Once you do this, your page should be accessable by visiting:
http://home.klis.com/~yourusername/
Tip: You may want to bookmark the site (ie. add it to your favorites) so
you can get back to it quickly.
Tip: If you name your first page index.html - the system will display the
first page automatic when the visitor enters your site using the above
address.
