KwikLink Announces Extended 56K Area
------------------------------------
KwikLink is pleased to announce an extension of our 56K service
areas to allow local 56K dial-up access to all of our existing
customers in areas that KwikLink services. Our 56K services
support the new V.90 protocol and should allow almost twice
the download speeds of a standard 28.8K modem.
To take advantage of this new service, simply change your
dial-up number to our 56K access number in your area:
Barrington (902) 637-3255
Digby (902) 839-2774
Meteghan (902) 645-3224
Lockeport (902) 875-3803
Yarmouth (902) 742-5710
Note: If you do not have a 56K V.90 compatible modem - please
continue to use our 28.8K/33.6K access numbers as they should
yield faster speeds if your modem does not support V.90.
If you have any questions concerning 56K services, please contact
our support team at support@klis.com.
Save Money On Your Internet Connection
--------------------------------------
Looking for a way to save money on your Internet Connection?
KwikLink makes it simple by giving you 2 months free when
you pay in advance for 1 year on a Standard Account. That's
12 months of KwikLink Internet for the price of 10 and there's
no Internet bill to worry about for a full year*. If you have
a Basic Account (65 hours/month), you can still benefit from
this savings by getting 1 month free.
For more information or to sign-up for a year, please contact
our sales team at sales@klis.com
Focus: How to get the most out of 56K
-------------------------------------
56K is now the newest frontier of modem technologies, but as the
newest frontier - it presents some challenges in order to get the
most possible horsepower from your modem. Using the new V.90
protocol, most users should be able to obtain connection speeds
in the range of 40,000-50,000 bps (Actual speed will depend upon
a number of phone conditions).
56K KwikLink Checklist:
1. Make sure you have a 56K modem that is compatible with
with V.90 protocol.
2. Make sure your computer sees the modem as a 56K compatible
modem.
3. Make sure you are dialing into one of the KwikLink 56K
phone numbers and not into the 33.6 access number
For the best results, make sure you are running the latest
firmware revision for your modem (firmware is the system that actually
operates your modem and new firmware can be downloaded directly from
most modem manufactures web sites). If you have any questions about
the modem in your computer, please contact your computer supplier or
KwikLink support at support@klis.com
