KwikLink announcements and events.

System Upgrades - More Lines On The Way

KwikLink has been experiencing extremely rapid growth in the past few
weeks, and as a result the evil force in the universe known as the
busy signal has surfaced a few times over the past few days. KwikLink
is committed to offering the best Internet Access possible and to this
end, we currently have 13 additional dial-up lines on order that should
be installed tomorrow (December 7).
On Tuesday December 6, there were some routing instabilities complicated
by a major power outage affecting a large portion of UUNet Technologies
Network in Canada that affected performance. We are currently working to
insure that we have a fast connection to all major Internet backbones.
I would like to thank everyone that has informed us of any difficulties
they have experienced. Only with the help of our users can we make your
surfing experience the best it can be.
X2 Testing Underway
-------------------
The long awaited 56K testing is now underway giving individuals access
to the Internet at nearly twice the speed of traditional 33.6K links.
Tests so far have been encouraging and this service should be available
soon. The other standard KFlex is expected to be available later after
a testing period is done using it as well. The two standards are not
compatible and usually modems are upgradable to only one standard.
This testing also includes 64K and 128K ISDN access which will be available
to both homes and business as part of the KwikLink Gold Service.
